Squaresoft should have stuck to the Playstation
I'm pretty sure BFF fony would have told us if the Wow terrain would have been copy & pasted 11+ in Wow. and even if they did, at least they attempt to NOT make it look the same by changing color, making them diff types of caves and $%^& and not just copy and paste on the back :/, also one thing i hate the most in games is long walks in the same terrain, even if u don't noticed the human eye will that its going in the same place over and over and i'm pretty sure it will get boring and put you to sleep
/shrug Oh no, Squareenix fails at one type of game.... too bad Parasite Eve for Survival Horror, the Bouncer/FF Dissidia for fighting, dozens of amazing RPG games that are out there, FF7 Dirge for shooters, Secret/Legend of Mana for Adventure games and others that are out there more then make up for it. Add in Enix and their accomplishments, and you still have a great god company.Beyond that, speaking as an FF fan... didn't care about 11, not caring about 14.
I really enjoyed this review. It made me giggle. I really like the look of the characters... but... that's about it. Maybe I'd try it if I didn't have to pay for it... but I didn't even like FF11 all that much. WoW has spoiled me... and before that, it was Dark Age of Camelot... which I'd still rank higher than this as far as Gameplay goes. After watching this, I have to say that I am... grateful to Blizzard for all the effort they put into their game.
It's true that FF went steeply downhill after XBut most other Square games are the %^&*
Having played in the Beta as well, the things pointed out here aren't even the reasons I'm so displeased with the game. Have you SEEN the crafting system? You have to memorize every recipe you learn. As in, when you get a new one, the materials are listed in the chat box, and then you never get to see them again. There is no list of 'known' recipes, you just have to remember. Yes, yes, 'it's Beta!'. It's also less then a week until live. That's kind of a major thing to have to program in in a WEEK. Never mind the fact that nowhere is the crafting 'minigame' explained, or the fact that if you start as a crafter you're just straight boned in combat. Which wouldn't be so bad, except you HAVE to do combat quests to progress, so... And good luck with finding quest givers for crafters, often the best directions the log gives you is what CITY the guy is in. As someone else said, I ignored FFXI, and I'll be giving a big pass to FFXIV.
