I leveled up 4 toons on Fishing to catch all 4 Tiny Carp, over 5k fish, plus I have caught 2 more on my main, so I do like this ability to cage the pets.
What, no fishing up "Chunk of Golden Carp" and combining 10 into an actual one? Aww man.
Yep, read it - and it just tells me that competition for nodes will skyrocket as people who have not leveled their profs don't go back to kalimdor to do so. So now, in addition to competing for nodes with others who need them just as you do, you'll compete for nodes with that many more people whose skill level is so low that they can't actually use them? Yeah, I see some potential down sides to this, and consider the possibility that it may be one more ill-thought-out attempt to keep anyone from ever having to experience the devastating inconvenience of having to do things that might make ten year olds feel 'bored.' :) One hopes it won't prove to be another one of those well-intended backfires...
So Blizzard is adding ways to raise professions from very low skill levels using Pandaria materials?Gathering and production tradeskills now have alternative ways to level using ONLY Pandaria stuff, this is by far the most contra productive step I've ever seen in this game, now players will have less reason to go to the old continents because they don't need to farm and use old materials to level professions anymore, way to go Blizzard, this will just contribute to the feeling of complete SOLITUDE in the old continents, and don't get me wrong, Pandaria doesn't feel that alive players-wise either. They NEED to motivate people to use old materials and visit, travel, explore farm old areas, the implementation of things like these is the exact opposite.
I like the gathering changes even though they don't immediately pertain to me because I have lower leveling gathering alts. Still, cool if I ever decide to change that up.
What happened to SKYCLAW? Is Blizzard gonna get him into game or is he just one of the unfulfilled dreams?
Guys, grab your superglue!
There is another issue with this revised gathering and that is for all those not a blacksmith. The availability of starting and intermediary materials will become even more scarce if you don't do the gathering yourself. So unless they streamline all the professions that are dependent on these gathering skills, everyone else has just been given another "oops, sucks to be you".Is this another way to encourage people to make even more toons by Blizzards creative marketing intelligentsia?
Erm...Blizzard has totally forgotten about Engineering. After all, other professions have USEFUL 522 items - why not any for engineering? The "best" item we have is retinal armor which is 476, BOP, and only usable by engineers. Granted, I believe the ilvl to be a bit underrated (as with the dragonling), but it is still disappointing to not have more useful items. A new mount would be great (if it ever happens), but I think they could bring in some other items. I've been seriously considering unlearning engineering and learning Blacksmithing because engineering, besides being pretty gimmicky, is not even particularly lucrative. I think the most (reasonably crafted) expensive engineering item I can sell (beside the mega-pricey mounts) is Lord Blastington's Scope of Doom, and maybe get 600g (the market is usually flooded) from it after using a spirit and roughly 200g worth of gems. The dragonling and toolbox all go for a 200-300 at best, while the gun costs a lot to make and is pretty weak and undesirable for all the effort. Anyone with archaeology can get a better gun from a couple days of mantid grinding. Meanwhile, other professions have bags, epic items, BOE weapons, etc. that they sell for thousands of gold. Everyone has the bike already.
