take note that it doesnt say "same" but "similar". apparently it still unclear on what blizz are gonna do.http://www.cnet.com/news/world-of-warcraft-may-be-adding-free-to-play-for-veterans/
from what i gather. i would guess that Veteran Accounts are basically starter like accounts for people who don't want to spend the money, but have spent it before. they have special restrictions, but not as low as a starter account, but still low. for example, you can't level your characters that are above a certain level nor can you access them, and you are also limited in gearscore. but veteran accounts probably can do neither dungeons, battlegrounds or things intended for group related play and have more character options, but their level cap is much lower. like twentysomething, maybe higher for vets. but i doubt it would go far past maybe thirty
The issue I see with the prot pally change here is that most prot pallies would use insight if the situation required us to use it, but not even a 5 stack of seal of truth doesn't measure up to what seal of righteousness can do. It just slows our ability to kill those things which can't kill us
Yeah, I am consistent with other healing classes in 10 man, but I just can't keep up in Flex groups. With fights where less people are getting hurt like Butcher, I pass most of them. But others where the entire group takes damage all the time like Brakenspore, my numbers just can't keep up. And since there's more AOE fights than tank and spanks, I just can't keep up in flex.
I wonder if Veteran account can access all the heirlooms in the upcoming collection.
Looks like i missed the Veteran Account thing. It seems to be ALMOST on par with the Premium-tier Account idea (warning: self promotion) I threw around a while ago. Here's why:While I'm not a fan of the restrictions, people without active subs can log in, which is an important component of the idea I pitched. It actually makes letting a sub lapse completely justifiable and I'm glad they're at least doing this now since it's weird that you pay the price of a triple-A release and then without a sub get locked out of the ability to play in this day's gaming industry.
Don't see any info regarding professions.
That veteran thingy is the biggest bull$%^& ever on this category of changes, but is nothing new. Its blizz.
Great THX Blizz, go *** yourself. SoT weakness is not a problem in pve because I'm using SoI but in pvp it is no longer fair. SoT in pvp is the basis for inflicting dmg by prot paladins, now it will be even worse.
Still no mage changes QQ
Veteran account... it's interesting, but in the end, it's totally bullsh*t.If Blizzard wants to get old players to play WoW and pay for it, this is the worst way to do it. Only way to get old players to play WoW is let them taste a little or more of new expansion, not to lock them out of their characters above 20lvl without see new expansion.A few weeks back, blizzard come with idea of ingame tokens and this veteran accout will totally destroy it. How can anyone activate/buy token:1. if you don't have access to your characters above 20lvl with gold?2. if gold isn't shared among all characters on realm?3. if you have all characters slots full with characters above 20lvl and can't create new one even for activate already buyed one (you brought one and know, that you won't play for one month)? When I personally read for the first time about ingame tokens, the first thing in my head "Oh my god, it's amazing, I will start playing again!" (I didn't play since Wotlk, only for fun every 3 months with 10 day trial.). Token thing alone have a few parts, that need to be solved, like:- activation or buy one after month or two pause - if you don't have last expansion, you will wait for trial, but if you have expansion you will need to pay with real money first and then next month with token (same goes with veteran account)... My design:- activation button of ingame tokens in you battle.net accout (if you have one in bank or bag slot on one of your characters)...- online auction house (without subcription), where you can buy only these tokens using shared gold of all characters on realm - you would select realm, where you have character and needed gold, with prices on this realm auction house, you would buy it from other player and then activate it- you don't have gold to buy token or token alone, but you have very very good friends (you know them from reality or only from game).. These friends could buy token and send it to your account as gift (when you get into the game, you would farm gold and pay your debt)But let's back to veteran account, my personal opinion is:- new players with resctrictions and unlimited playing like it's now- old players, whose already played for year or more, let them taste a little or more of WoD: - with a little - 90lvl and 1EXP to 91lvl, try garrison and follower system, new zones, all classes by 10 day trial every 3 months or unlimited time (REAL GAME START WITH 100LVL!) - this situation is now with trial. - with more (it's same like with a little taste, but with on difference) - 99lvl and 1EXP to 100lvl - it's 1 exp to 100lvl, where real game start (raids, pvp and other things)... You will be so close to it, your friends/guild will propably talk over you to pay expansion and subsciption. If Blizzard combine this with token system, there will be many old players, whose will come back to game, but veteran account thing will only screw it totally.
Oh boy! A new useless upgrade for profession items with rediculous amout of expensive mats! What a joy! This surely will benifit many ...Why don't you eliminate all professions from the game all at once? What a joke
Ahhh Palidins. Ghostcrawler-Greg Street would be proudNow how about our Moose?
