I created an account to comment... And i think it's pretty bad.Wall of Text incoming.I played late BC to MOP back in the days and quitted due personal responsiblities, but there are some strong memories. Also, i followed the changes since then.Back in the day, Fury had that ability "Rampage", increasing Attack Power, being on the GCD. It does not felt slow or clunky, it was part of the rotation, because Fury wasn't GCD locked back then. Frost Death knights also had strong dependencies on Empower- You had the most damage out of it if you striked it when no runes were active, low on runic power, and under damage increasing Buffs (in effect you had to use it in the right time). Also, i can also see why they decided to make these changes. MOP Ret Paladins were notorious about hitting Strength Trinket, Holy Avenger, GOAK and WIngs, all the same time, preferably with a stun, allowing them to do craptons of damage in no time. (Same applies the other incarnations of Rets, but this was just ludicrous.)There were other examples of "GCD buffs" and "non-GCD" buffs, but these were the two i had to mention, before the conclusion. So why the "onGCD" changes are bad? Because:1. It removes the skill cap of using the utilities in the right time. In Heroic (called Mythic after Mop) raiding, split seconds matter, same applies to pvp. You can make a competitve game with slowing down the pace of events, but that just means the midfield will grow, and the gear and luck would matter over skill and dedication (and being the currently op class, but that is not on the players). 2. Some utilites were moved to "gcd" category that had strong "ohfukigottoGTFO" capablities, while some remained to be used anytime, making them superior to those on the GCD. This causes problems. Having no offgcd GTFO/OhCrap Button against a class that has offensive offGCD spell is imbalaced. Having one versus classes that have their one on gcd also is.What to do? Reduce the amount of burst spells available, or make them cooldown on a separate instance of shared cd(Like trinkets OR Heroic Strike/Cleave in cata), or reduce the gcd involved with those on GCD. Utilities shall never be on GCD, for the sake of competitive gameplay. It caps what players can do to what their classes can do, kicking "Bring the player, not the class" off the field again.Sorry for the grammar, I'm not native english speaker.
There is one thing about the GCD I am not certain about. There are two ways of how GCD works for a spell. Either spell is affected by GCD or causes GCD. Most instant spells are both affected by GCD and cause GCD. But some spells are not affected by GCD, which means that while you can use almost no other abilities, the excluded spells from GCD can still be used. Like interrupts. But even spells that are not affected by GCD can cause GCD... at least I think that it was once a case with some spells, like judgment for Paladins. Alas it was probably long ago. And I am not sure which expansion. Probably Burning Crusade. I think it was to balance the obvious disadvantage that judgment could only be cast if you had a seal buff on yourself, and it would consume it. So it forced you to keep reapplying seal buff as a part of your rotation all the time, while that buff didn't do any immediate damage or effect (and in most cases, it did nothing if you consumed right after). So, how about the spells in the list? Are they both and GCD and cause it?
I might have missed this, but is Shaman getting Tremor totem back in BfA?
I just logged in BfA Beta for the first time today, created a hunter and, after configuring my stuff, went to the dummies to check the new GCD thing as BM. It feels terrible! After spending some time in the dummies I closed the game and don't really feel like testing anything else in the beta for now. If this stays like it is right now, I'll probably regret pre-buying the expansion. I really can't understand what goes on devs mind when they decide that making players feel bad about playing the game is a good thing.
Blood Fury = not on GCD (2 min CD, lasts 15 sec) can be macroed to other abilitiesBerserking = on GCD (3 min CD, lasts 12 sec up from 10 aka band-aid) can no longer be macroed to other abilitiesMakes sense. /end sarcasmAdditionally, no extra time was added to Innervate to account for it being added to the GCD. So, there is now incentive to only cast it on others - restoration druid would waste 1.5 seconds self-casting. Thanks for that. Innervate trades will be a thing now, if druids will still be played at all, since it doesn't appear that any developer is working on the druid class.
BL off the GCD? POGGERS
This is coming from the guy who declined giving us High Elves despite the huge support people give them and then justify it on eye color when the amount of different customization they could come up with for them is able to shut that argument down. Blizzard will never accept their mistakes.
Resto Druid Innervate also had a GCD in the beta, is this intended (As I see its not for balance druids) and the resto druid version hasn't had an increased duration to compensate....
This whole endeavor is a giant waste of development resources. There are plenty of over things that could be implemented to freshen up the game instead.
I do agree they are messing up on what should go on GCD.
Shadowstep No GCDGrappling Hook No GCDHeroic Leap No GCDInfernal Strike No GCDHarpoon 0.5sWild Charge 0.5sDeath Grip 0.5sFeral Lunge 0.5sCharge 0.5sIntercept 0.5sSo I'm a little confused here.So... All these abilities are used for the same thing, getting to packs before your group does to gain aggro. Wild Charge, Infernal Strike, Intercept, Heroic Leap, etc... I am confused as to why some are off the GCD and some are 0.5s. This is an issue because if you are in a heavily offensive group, you Wild Charge in and Thrash or Swipe to get aggro on the new pack. If you are waiting 0.5sec to be able to do your AoE or single target on the mob, your offensive heavy group may have already caught up to you and taken aggro. On dangerous weeks in Mythic+ this will make it that you will be unlikely to take things like Wild Charge as it can cause deaths . A heavy hitting melee from some mobs may one shot in high keys and you recklessly Intercepting in without being able to Thunder Clap to get instant-aggro, seems like a very dangerous situation. It takes away your ability to "think" about where to go with your Charge, and just makes you less likely to click the button out of being mocked for constant lack of aggro for the first melee hit or so of each and every pack. The fact that some of these abilities are off the GCD, ie, favouring Demon Hunter tanks and Rogues, seems very odd. At least put all the Tanks charges off the GCD and all the DPS on, or vice versa. I get that the class fantasy of DH and Rogues are meant to be fast (I am not critiquing that). I am critiquing turning every other tank into lessening the importance of their Charge abilities. Why the *!@# would I charge if I can't get aggro before the group gets there anyway... As a Vengeance DH u can put your flames around you so that you pick up aggro when you get there, but most AoE abilities are on the GCD for things like Prot and Guardian so... you would just feel weaker. Thanks for reading.
Still waiting to see Tiger's Fury and Wild Charge off the GCD. They as of now make Feral Druids a much worse version of Rogue. Very poor playstyle when using the Predator and Bloodtalons Talents. So here's to hoping somebody puts the word in to fix this.
welcome to "World of Waitcraft"
well looking at those, I can not realy se a huge problem, only difference is that you can not combine some skills whit eachother as smoothly anymore, and I think that is a good thing, becuse some classes became totaly op in burst dmg due to it.
Why the hell is Mage Combustion off the GCD while other offensive CD are on it?
