Vol'jin was my favorite warchief throughout my entire time playing WoW. I miss him :(
“There was a presence. Something moving in the shadows. Something powerful.”My money is on the old schemer... N'Zoth. Broken Shore was near where Well of Eternity used to be, right?
I'm not sure who whispered to Vol'jin. But, for bringing him back? I have a theory there.Keeper Tyr. The fallen Titan Keeper, who lost his hand to great evil (Galakrond) and replaced it with a silver one. The figure the Silver Hand, Tyr's Hand and Tirisfal Glades are named for.I think he could be a great candidate for the "Hand of Valor" that now resides in the Shadowlands, looking after the good of Azeroth.
This article seems a bit biased against Sylvanas, failing to touch on her reasoning for doing all her stuff with the Val'kyr during Legion, and why she struck a bargain to gain control of Eyir.
I hope Helya and Sylv team up to kick Odyn in the nuts, hate that baffoon. Also, still not over what he did to Helya.
What an amazing article. Thanks so much for all this great analysis!
Fully expecting a Shadowlands raids at some point
I've been saying it forever dang it... KEL'THUZAD! According to last we heard from Blizz, he's still 'alive' and kicking, somewhere in the Shadowlands. Think about it. He's the only major death power we've not interacted with on the matter. All of Blizzard's other recent references to death, the Lich King, and past events. The similarities between Sylvanas and Arthas ever since she became warchief. His promise to be back more powerful than our comprehension. The philosophical similarities between the Cult of Forgotten Shadow and the Cult of the Damned. ...He's using her to ready the world for his return! Next expansion, or at least the .2 or .3 phase of it, will see us venturing into the Shadowlands while still alive, just wait and see. Phased versions of some existing zones all spookified or somesuch. XD
Ok, I love Nobbel but that was a 30 minute long video that told us absolutely nothing we didnt already know. Total waste of time. Very disappointed in you Nobbel
I will overlook the fact that the whole post seems completely biased towards Sylvanas and "hinting" towards sylvanas becoming Garrosh #2 and killed by players and present my personal speculation that i feel like ppl who read novels and chronicles and know so much about lore should have known. The Void told Aleria to kill Sylvanas because their FEAR her. The undeath is immune to the Old God's whispers, which is heavily hinted in the whole Wotlk xpac, where Yogg'saron was openly trying to manipulate the Lich King but not very effective as it seems and in one of the chronicles it says that N'zoth is afraid of sylvanas because he cannot whisper and corrupt her.Did no1 srsly consider the fact that Azeroth herself might be behind all the major events from appointing Sylvie to Warchief and "divine" touching Vol'jin? A being of Azeroth's magnitude certainly knew that using the 5 pillars of creation to shut the portal in Tomb of sargeras down, would release Nzoth from his prison. That would mean that every race living on the planet would be susceptible to the whispers. Who would be better equipped to lead the armies against N'zoth than some1 who controls undeath? I m not arguing that Sylv's actions as warchief are honorable or correct, but i m saying that there is a pattern here. She didnt want the alliance to have any port in the kalimdor to unload azerite so she planned on conquering Darnassus and cleverly lured malfurion into an open battle only to test Saurfangs loyalty to her. When he failed to deliver the killing blow to Malfurion Sylvie knew that taking the city would cost many lives so it was better for her to burn the city than capture it. The goal is achieved either way. I believe Sylvanas has been approached by Azeroth in visions or dreams and made aware that the entire planet except from herself and her forsaken are alrdy being corrupted by N'zoth (even magni is hinted to have been made a pawn based on Ilgynoth's whisper : "THE KING OF DIAMONDS HAS BEEN MADE A PAWN"), so Sylvanas is to single handendly prepare the world for war against the Void, while having to fight a war against alliance and possibly horde characters who might alrdy be corrupted by N'zoth. Also with Bolvar being hinter to return in BFA ( totally my speculation) , i see Sylvanas either killing him or taking his place to become the Lich Queen, becoming the ultimate weapon against N'zoth ultimately sacrificing herself to defeat him or just retiring to Icecrown to be the Jailor of the damned so she can be removed from the Horde.
I dont want sylvanas to die off anymore she's my sexy waifu of the horde <.< >.>
I created a theory based on the recent changes and BoD plot.Focusing on the recent revamp on Uther's tomb and the interaction with the Lich King, i'm pretty sure they're focusing in bring Kel'thuzad back and now you ask: Why him?Kel'thuzad in the events of Warcraft III has proved to be able to materialize to a single specific being and communicate in the form of a spirit like any other loa. I'm pretty sure the one who whispered Vol'jin was him and now my guesses are:1. Kel'thuzad have allied with wither an random Old God in order to achiev a goal or Sargeras himself, but i can't think of anything.2. Either this is a long plot to bring Lich King back. Since Legion the heroes are twisting with the bonds of life and death, Val'kyr bringing people back from the certain death, killing Helya and now the possible fall of the Loa of the Dead himself. But why now? Simple. The contents of the Book of Medivh are still a mystery in the plot but 2 people have stolen it's knowledge and it was Kel'thuzad and Ner'zhul(Lich King), the same book who was used to open portals between Azeroth and Draenor which full capabilities are still unkown. A perfect opportunity to open a path between the world of the living and the world of the dead. The last trigger they're probably seeking is the death of Sylvanas, by making her Warchief is the perfect chance to get her out of their path. However, lost souls of heros may also benefit from this situation, making a perfect chance to Uther, who felt the presence of the lich plotting to prevent Vol'jin from being sent to the realm of the dead to serve as a messenger to warn the heroes of Azeroth of the return of the Lord of the Dead.
My money is on Vol'jin becoming a Loa, many loa have died in the past few years, a new one is not a strange thing.
I feel like we're seeing the end set up here. After we fight N'Zoth, we fight its creators. And after the Void Lords... what's left to fight, but Death itself? I'm betting we've got about 3 more years of WoW as an actively developed game.
