Good, it was so much more satisfying to perfectly heal a dungeon, get compliments on "finally finding a holy priest" and then hitting shadowform.
Pretty sure wowhead will step up and provide an alternative. They have most of the work already done, they only need to extract character data.Could the wowhead client do that?
if I remember correctly.. wow.allakhazam.com used to have "armory" via their wow reader addon..it would show your gear, bank slots and gold amount.
This is awesome, Glad they keeping it how it was back in classic thank you blizzard :) Can't wait for classic just hope it's like what had back in the day as them times was very fun
This is nice and all, but I'm quite worried about the wording here. Why is "at launch" mentioned? Doesn't this leave room for the possibility of it being added later down the line?
Short version Blizzard did not allocate money for the feature... lets face it... if players want an armory & talent inspection its as simple as demanding an addon similar to KTM or damage meters being installed at which point inspection is simple and even upload to a website as armory... can even include a quick inspect of those near you so even those without get updated once in awhile....blizzards choice simply put only benefits toxic ninjas as no one except the grp will know what player X did in grp Y.... while armory would list when & what was looted so you can ask or wonder why a rogue holds the caster staff from Nefarion etc.
I remember using a WoW Character/Guild Profiler addon back then, which stored all of your character's data in its database. It was quite popular even after the Armory launched, because it kept track of professions and other details that wouldn't be in Armory until way later.
Before the Armory, there used to be a great website addon called WoW Roster and a companion addon called CharacterProfiler. The addon would collect data about your character and you'd upload the resulting WTF data to your guild's website so everyone in the guild could see your gear, talents, skills, and professions. Perhaps we can locate some of that code and revive it?Edit: Found the site! It's had activity a year ago so it looks like it might be adaptable to Classic. http://www.wowroster.net/Here's the code for those of you with GitHub-fu:https://github.com/WoWRoster
Thank you very much for the details... this is nice. A step closer to finding an armory!
