Watch Blizzard "patch" the issue instead of &*!@ING REMOVING THIS GARBAGE
For some reason this is much more funny and engaging than his other scaling vids since it’s on a lowbie lvl 20.
love this kind of videos! Keep'em coming
This just proves scaling is garbage
I'm really glad I'm not on this guy's server. It would suck to get yourself randomly one shot for no reason all the time.
Dear Blizzard, please remove this system. Sincerely, me.
Removed
At least it's all with mage's own spells. No borrowed power here :D
I still remember level 10 Druids in the MoP Beta using level 86 questing gear with no level requirement from the Flasktaur vendor, back when Jade Forest was closed. Nightmare.
Remove ilvl scaling from both PvE and PvP.
No one could possibly like this. This is exactly why the PvP scaling system shouldn't exist. Weird upscales/downscales like this shouldn't even be remotely possible, along with all the other unfavorable parts of the system when it is functioning normally, it's a systems players would probably be better off without.
Is the amount of setup his stuff usually requires feasible for a regular player, though?
LMAO literally impossible to pull off that damage without getting buffed by a lvl 120 player, ergo only possible in duels where the opponent can't kill you until combat starts. Also did my own testing with my lvl 20 mage that I'm waiting on prepatch to cap. As Arcane my skills only do a little over 2x more damage (arcane blast and arcane missiles) so a 99 crit did 221 dmg according to my max level. I then switched to frost, and frostbolt did 5.5k damage when it registered 66 from the mage. Flurry did 2.8k when registering as 35. So yes it's a glitch specifically with those 2 spells and they are doing ~8000% more damage instead of the ~200% with every other spell i tried. I'm going to test out how it works on a lvl 110 trial mage vs my max character and see how the scaling is.
Okay I'm back after testing with a 110 frost mage, flurry was doing about 1,250 dmg on my max level characters screen and 300 on the mage's screen so a little over 4x the damage, a significant DROP in damage from lvl 20, and frostbolt did 3,350 on max lvl and 778 on mage screen, again a little over 4x the damage, and a significant amount less than when on lvl 20. While a frost lance was showing 823 on the max level and 370 on the mage, which is a little over 2x the damage. Meaning that those 2 abilities are still receiving more scaling than all the other abilities even at lvl 110, but they are doing less damage at 110 than at lvl 20 and therefore are also scaling less. From a ~8000% scaling vs ~200% scaling at lvl 20 to a ~400% scaling vs 200% scaling at lvl 110 (comparing the 2 glitched spells scaling vs normal spells at both levels).
