If they put the Jabberwock into the Maw, it would almost assuredly be Hearthstone's Shudderwock!
Speed bonuses in The Maw:Blizzard creating a problem and "selling" you the solution (you pay WITH YOUR TIME) at its finest.
You need to wear two pieces of 155 gear, which is lower itemlvl than you get from normal dungeons (158), so it's instantly obsolete. If it offered substantial runspeed, at least 30%, the items would perhaps be worth keeping around with an outfitter macro or something. Or maybe if it was just a pair of boots or a ring.
Sure, or scale it up like WQ rewards so you just get the items again after you gear up or something. By setting the itemlvl at normal dungeons, they are basically only good the first week of the expansion.
I wonder if the movement speed will be one of those (many) things that doesn't stack with windwalker buff so it will end up being useless.
The 10% movespeed buff from Necrolords feels really slow on my priest...(and i got the shield talent and am an engineer) not really worth it imo.
10%... Woah, I need to carry an anchor incase I overshoot my destination while wearing the set. I might mistake myself with the flash... Oh, wait! Its a pathetic 10% and instead of a boost that would actually make a difference!Seriously, 10% is no speed boost. Its an insult.
Pretty cool stuff , I dig it .
Much as I keep trying to mount up out of force of habit, I go "meh" to the mountless Maw. To quote Steven Wright, "Everywhere's walking distance if you have the time."
Agreed , the chaotic rift stones are nice quick travel and there are usually those trash can guys riding around that you can beat the crap out of to jack their ride for a bit too . Deal with it , thems the rules.
What's the rationale for not being able to mount in the Maw anyway? (other than increasing 'engagement')
They deliberately degraded gameplay in the Maw, making movement tedious, just so the eventual reward of the working mount feels better. My argument, and you're certainly free to disagree, is that obstacles placed in the players' path should be challenges-- powerful foes requiring character progression and/or player skill to overcome. Making every player's experience tedious until they eventually overcome it is not what I would call high quality game design. But you're right, it is game design. This is very much the slippery slope flying argument come to vivid life. Can they take away ground mounts too? Will players accept that? From this comment thread, it seems many absolutely will.
