Being a casual due to too many real life responsibilities at the moment, I'm finding the maw is making me even more casual, especially as being a clothy, I tend to leave/try to wrap things up at Rank 3 rather than deal with the assassins. I'd rather lose rep then make my way back to my body to pick up lost stygia.
You also can RELOG to reset debuff when at Eye Of Jailer Rank 5
Honestly, i hope highlighting all the bad designs of killing blow system makes them revisit how awful that system is. As a tank people constantly run mobs over me and then I’m stuck trying to get rid of them. Even if I don't attack them myself mobs have always had passive threat mechanics where they still pick up on nearby combat, in other words, if a mage invises off mobs they were kiting nearby and I was in combat with totally different mobs, they will still run to me even though I didn't attack them because of passive combat threat. So a system that's literally designed to encourage this kind of griefing is just out right bad.1. Should be, if you tapped it, and it dies, you gain eye. All mobs should give some rep, even if it's 1. Anything that gives eye should not be a zero gain, with exception of gathering since that's not a zero gain. This would illiminate a lot of the bad practices of running mobs into other players and griefing. This would encourage ore helping of strangers in maw when you see them getting clobbered and instead of current system which is basically "f that guy" as you walk by and let them die. or strategies where you literally go out of way to make that happen to that guy because "oh good if mobs are on them I can skip them"2. Extermination debuff should actualy be deadly, literally holding onto quests til end to do them at 5 is bad design. It should be made so if you want to get the quests done, you do them first. At 5, immediate extermination should actually be near immediate and unlivable. Your goal should be as you reach 5, you should be walking into the cave or casting your cave return item because after 10 seconds you're very much dead even if you're a tank with defensives up.The maw shouldn't foster such negetive and even unfun gameplay to be efficient.
So how long till they include the quest rewards in things affected by the debuff and add the caveat of completing them at Jailer 5 is an instakill?
<<Unfortunately, because you gain 6 Points for every killing blow, this promotes a very selfish playstyle in the Maw. You may have seen many people just run past as many mobs as possible, trying to leash them instead of killing them and this is why. If you're going for reputation, you should kill as few things as possible in the Maw every day. >> So Blizzard made the decision to reward crap behavior? Not like there aren't enough selfish idiots already that play, now everyone that reads this will actively try to avoid a killing blow. Well, I won't be following the advice to be a selfish twit just to cap rep or avoid Jailer penalties. This is suppose to be fun, not see how much crap behavior we can bring out in the player base. What happened to the devs that use to make quality content that was fun and didn't promote asshat behavior? oh yea they left...Seriously hope I'm misunderstanding this as this is really a stupid decision if correct, imho.
I am sure some of these things will be hotfixed now that you made an article about it. Honestly not unhappy about the impending hotfix either, imagine dying a lot to just avoid killing mobs while you work on slowly gaining quest completion. I can see being in combat with a mob gives you a reduced amount of eye of jailor (and killing blows no needed). So those people who enjoy training mobs onto others who don't care about this min max will be hurt equally as bad. Imagine the fun both parties can have now!Now even if they just change the rank 5 from slowly ticking minor damage to either quickly ticking or heavy damage I would be happy. You drew the final expansion tiers raid bosses eye, why does it only tickle?

With how little I like the maw I'm just going to be doing it 2 or 3x a week max and I'll get exalted in a few months.
The Abductors are absolutely awful to kill fast as a BM Hunter seeing as pets can't reach them in the air and the majority of BM damage is from pets. Are other classes similarly restricted in what abilities can be used against these winged foes?
I tried doing the whole maw min-max thing for a couple days, and it's easily the most I've disliked wow this expansion. It makes content that's already kind of tedious and frustrating vastly more so. It's lucky that this doesn't feel all that mandatory to do unless you're at the very top level (even for most mythic raiders it seems like you'll be alright if you just do the regular maw grind), but I feel like if I were raiding at that level and had to do it I'd kind of despise Blizz right now.
Can you clarify something?Bonus Objective - 40 rep, ineffectiveRare Kill - 80 rep, effectiveHandyNotes classifies "rares" with red dots, but they only give me 40 rep. Lite Ratgusher and the like.My daily routines were always go to the red spots, kill the rares for 40 rep, then at 5 stacks finish the dailies. So, this is not what should have been done?
Ok, Mr. Obvious..this site is becoming more idiotic each month. Also, there already was a guide for The Maw efficiency 2 weeks ago on wowhead..
I was pretty baffled why they would have a zone that had bonus objectives, which HURT your progress if you do them. Just a really dumb idea. If anything the bonus objectives should REMOVE eye stacks, not add to them. The first week I had to do an entire quest with 5 stacks, it was miserable. I got it done, but didn't like the place much after.
