"was a mixture of experience and willingness to put in time and effort" A.K.A BOTS
The least you can do is add a fresh server or good luck with the economy.
So BC wont be a standalone separate to Classic? That was kinda my hope
A poor decision by Blizzard. Hopefully it is reconsidered.
Oh dear. The gold cap was something that was seriously needed.
Gold should have a very low cap and trade goods shouldn't be copied whatsoever. Gold would essentially be worthless since you could just infinitely copy characters with the same gold.
You can clone your character to BC or Classic the way they were the 1st time you log in once the patch comes out. Basically you chose if that character will be played in BC or Classic but you have the oportunity to continue with both as they were that day, as I understand it if you send CharaX to BC and pay to be able to play CharaX in Classic too you won't be able to send CharaX from Classic to BC again so you can have say 1M g with CharaX in both BC and Classic but you won't get endless clones of those 1M g.
Hopefully there are fresh servers then, because someone who didn't play classic but is looking forward to BC with the boost is not going to enjoy plopping onto a server where the economy is already broken.
I doubt this will actually happen. This is essentially gold duplication. Lets say you farm 10,000 gold in Classic - after you copy that you can then spent 20,000 gold total. They really shouldn't allow for anything higher than a few hundred gold to cover basic gameplay costs. Taking a look at trading economies in modern online games like Path of Exile. Having a fresh economy creates a fair environment for everyone. Without it there would be insane inflation on day 1 and newer players would have to complete in an unfair economy during an expansion launch.
Well it seems this will be the end of my classic retail wow experienceI refuse to play this garbage abomination they claim to call burning crusadeatleast some private servers are going to jump on the hype train and make a server with atleast a single decision that doesnt turn this into shadow-crusadeNostalrius 2.0 inc
this is already a mess
The bots made a huge effort to farm tens of thousands of gold. We don't want them to lose it, right?
So let's say you have classic char A and B. You transfer A with 10000 gold to TBC. Then on classic, you send the 10000 from A to B, and transfer B over to TBC.Isn't this just endless money or am I missing something....
From the other talk it sounded like our normal servers would PROGRESS.. so no copying.. its only back to a classic only server paying to copy that'd dupe gold to a lock classic only server? and i have to imagine no forward movement for those characters..
you will NOT copy a character to TBC.. only to Classic locked.. so you can have 10 times your current gold (and friends gold) in the locked classic server but not in TBC from what i understand.
